Instagram and FB’s Poke New Competitor? Snapchat
Happy New Year everyone!
Have you ever thought about sending someone a pic that self destruct after it’s been viewed? I couldn’t personally think of a reason to do that unless it involved not taking up space on my phone 🙂 For the people out there who would have other uses for that ability, there is an app for that! (a couple of apps now) Here comes SnapChat. It’s real-time picture chatting the company calls the fastest way to share a moment. Facebook came out with the app Poke that deletes photos also. (pics and vids can be retrieved up to 90 days later) Instagram doesn’t delete. Snapchat is new to the Android and iOS markets. It’s said to be the craze for teens – early 20s crowd. You can set the length the receiver views the picture and can be download it if you want. It informs you if it has been downloaded. The appeal for teens, I’m sure, in some aspect is hiding conversations, vids, or pics from parents … What do you think?

Transfer files from Computer to iPhone with this App for Free
Have you ever wanted to transfer docs or picture files to your iPhone from your computer or read your Word documents on the go? I was browsing around the net and found this app. It’s called USB Disk and currently free but has a $2.99 “pro” version which has added benefits like outputting to a TV or connecting to a FTP server. For the usual person the free version will meet your needs. I don’t know how long it will be free but it’s a great utility to have on the go! Get it while its hot! Â No jail breaking needed…Click the link… USB Disk
Apple CEO: 2011 is the year of the iPad 2, not copycats
So the iPad 2 was introduced today and will arrive online and in stores March 11th. It is 33% thinner than the original. I hear it’s beautiful, well as beautiful as technology can be. Apple is the king of innovations and they want you to accept the iPad as a replacement for the PC. The specs in layman’s terms
- Has a better processor (Dual-core 1GHz A5 processor, which is “up to two times faster” than the previous version, Steve says.)
- Improved graphics (The GPU goes at nine times the speed as before. says Jobs)
- Same low power consumption-battery still lasts 10 hours and a month on standby
- Front facing and rear facing cameras for FaceTime & Photobooth (or any other app, camera on back has 720p HD video capability)
- Built in gyroscope-just like the iPhone 4
- HDMI out to TV/Monitor that mirrors what’s on your iPad screen ($39 Apple Digital AV Adapter cable)
- You can download iMove & Garageband to it-video editing and music software
- New cover that “attaches magnetically to the iPad 2 and it covers only the screen, adding minimal weight and bulk. Inside, it has a microfiber lining to clean the glass every time to move it. You can fold it to hold the iPad 2 in any position you want.” Apple says.
- Comes in WHITE as well as the usual Black
- Available on Verizon and AT&T for the 3G models
Prices:Â We know how Apples does with new products. Prices will be the same.
Wi-Fi models: $499/16GB, $599/32GB, and $699/64GB.
3G models :$629/16GB, $729/32GB, and $829/64GB.
So what does that mean?!?! YOU CAN GET A 1st Generation iPad for cheaper! 🙂 (around $300 or $400 for base models) Merry Christmas! lol

{iOS}{Android} Angry Birds
Angry Birds is amazingly fun. People say it is addictive. By experience, I must say it is quite habit forming. Basically the birds are angry at the pigs who stole their eggs. In game play you launch the birds at the pigs whom are in glass, wood, and cement structures. You can get it for the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from $.99 to $4.99. Also available for free (ad supported) on Android. I’m telling you, it’s not hype. Try it out.
{iOS} Word Lens
If you haven’t heard about it yet, Word Lens is one amazing app for the iPhone. It’s a real time translator of printed language. You buy language packages and the fun begins. I’ve seen it first hand and it is pretty cool stuff. It’s available in the iTunes app store for free but the translator packages are $4.99 each. Check it out!
